Our commitment

People use Suggestion Ox to raise concerns, share ideas, and report problems at work. That only works if every employee can use it, including people who rely on a screen reader, a keyboard, magnification, or other assistive technology. We design, build, and test the product against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

What this statement covers

This statement and our Accessibility Conformance Report cover the Suggestion Ox web application:

  • Employee-facing pages: suggestion box submission, anonymous conversations, poll responses, Live Q&A participation, and email preferences.
  • Administrative dashboard: the pages your staff use to manage boxes, responses, polls, Live Q&A, reports, users, and settings.

It covers the application, not this marketing website (suggestionox.com). The report lists a few other items that are out of scope, such as the third-party billing portal and downloadable exports.

Current status

Suggestion Ox conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, with the exceptions listed in our Accessibility Conformance Report. In brief, the known exceptions are:

  • Custom brand colors. A color a customer picks for their branded pages can fall below contrast minimums. We always choose the higher-contrast text color, but some mid-tone colors still fall short.
  • Kiosk mode. The optional kiosk mode returns to the form 20 seconds after a submission, with no way to extend the time.
  • Multi-select fields. A third-party multi-select field doesn’t fully report its expanded and selected state to screen readers.
  • Tooltips. Tooltips close when you move the pointer onto them, and one tooltip on the employee-facing form can’t be dismissed with Escape.
  • Toggle switches. Fixed-size toggle switches in the dashboard may clip their On/Off text when text spacing is increased.

The report gives the full detail for each WCAG 2.1 success criterion.

How we test

  • Code audits of the application against the WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA success criteria, followed by fixes for the issues found.
  • Automated axe-core accessibility checks and browser tests (keyboard use, focus handling, status announcements, and reflow) that run with every release.
  • Screen-reader testing with VoiceOver and NVDA of the employee-facing flows: submitting feedback, answering polls, and joining Live Q&A.
